1) Slow LTE
service from T-Mobile, mostly during last few days before data restarts for the
next period.
This
might be due to the amount of data a particular individual uses, regardless of
the unlimited data plan. After 15GB of data used, the connection becomes slow.
2) The
misinformed employees at the Financial Aids Office, and Bursar. Particularly
during the beginning of the semesters when students are having difficulties
with their financial aid, and scholarship information.
This
is caused by the lack of information the employees receive regarding certain
types of financial aid and scholarships, and then it it affects the students.
3) The hike of
prices during the holiday season of the bus transportation from Gainesville to
South Florida, and back to Gainesville. The prices go up $15 from the original
price, which in its’ own is already a high price for students to afford.
The
hike price is due to Supply and Demand. During the holiday season, the supply
of bus tickets is limited but the demand (which is the students) increases. The
less supply, and the higher demand will cause a price increase.
4) The size
discrimination of Abercrombie & Fitch. As you enter the retail store, you can explore the
size of jeans, but if you notice closely, they only go up to a specific size,
which means plus size women and girls won’t be able to fit into their brand
clothes.
The
target market of retail store is directed for specific women’s sizes, most
specifically a size 0 to 7. The target market does purchase the clothing items
at the retail store because their marketing team successfully brings those
target market into the store.
5) The
idolization of reality TV stars disrupts society’s perception on beauty and
lifestyle, and makes individuals spend thousands of dollars on unnecessary
products promoted by the celebrities or created by them.
The
media and TV channels have marketed their celebrities to become icons in
society, and then the celebrity utilizes their influence to sell products that
are mediocre.
6) Transportation
in Palm Beach County. The system in Palm Beach County during the week is an
inconvenience for workers and and students attending college. The bus route
that goes through the college passes every hour, and if you happen to miss the
bus, then you wouldn’t make it to class.
Since
some stops are not on populated areas, or do not get a large amount of
passengers, the transportation system decided to have less routes to save money
on gas, buses, and employees.
7) Bus drivers
at Palm Beach County do not keep to their schedule. Bus 64 has the worst bus
drivers, for example the driver would be 40 to 60 minutes late, which made it
an inconvenience getting to job on time or school on time.
In
this particular case, is the fault of the employers and the employee. They do
not have an accurate tracking system that would reinforce the time that the bus
has to be at each stop.
8) In Spanish
TV, there are constantly remaking soap operas that were made in the 1990s and early
2000s instead of writing or creating a new TV show that has a new plot and
story.
Instead
of giving new writers an opportunity to succeed, Spanish TV is recycling
successful shows to increase profit.
9) The long
lines at any Walmart, and there is only a few Cashiers working the lines.
To
reduce employee costs, management hires less workers, but loses money by investing
in cash registers that won’t be utilized.
10) Customer
service at my local Walgreens in Lake Worth Florida has deteriorated in the
last couple of months
This
is due to poor management that fails to encourage workers to welcome customers
in the most amicable and welcoming way. Their motto “The corner of happy and
healthy” fall short to the actually experience as a customer.
11) The Meat
used at McDonalds no longer taste like beef or chicken.
This
is due to the company trying to buy cheap meat, instead of high quality.
12) Traffic
going to Miami from South Florida on Rush hours
There
is always construction going to Miami, which slows down traffic instead of
making it convenient.
13) Roommate
having the A/C at 55 degrees
Since
she slept next to the controller, she would put the room freezing cold, which
she was not considerate to her roommates.
14) When the
coffee you purchase is not as they advertise to be.
Depends
on the person who is drinking the coffee, and if they are satisfied with the
product.
15) WI-FI at UF
is slow when trying to use it on your phone
Too
many people using the WI-FI at once can slow down the internet,
16) Overflow of
students at the libraries before finals, but before there is barely anyone
there.
Since
there is a time pressure to study, students rush to the library to put
distractions aside and study to get a good grade on their test.
17) Too many commercials
on TV, instead of actually letting viewers see the show and enjoy it.
Profit
is key, and this is why channels decide to to have more commercials because
they are getting to paid to give them a minute on TV.
18) When pencil
lead breaks too easily
This
is due to the type of pencil you purchase, and the quality of the lead.
19) Waiting
time to get your food at Chipotle on University Ave even when you order it
online. Better off waiting in line then using their app to purchase.
They
use the same employees that are serving the line to do the “pickup” food, which
if there is a longer line, then your order will take longer than it should
have.
20) The cost to
travel from Gainesville to South Florida on the turnpike or vice versa.
This
is due to the cost of maintaining the turnpike at a lesser traffic then another
the interstate 95 or 75. But in order to do so, they have to charge knowing
that people would prefer to be in traffic then to pay a large amount of money. Going
to South Florida, the only option is to take the Turnpike at some point.

Writing the list
was not easy, since it is difficult to come up with things that bothers you.
Some are more of a nuisance that are bothersome at the moment, but others are
more of a bug that are worth writing about, and are done by companies, and
affects consumers.
I agree with false perceptions generated by reality TV. Our self-worth as humans is damaged because of this. Unfortunately, REAL reality doesn't sell to well and we would rather mentally check out and live in an artificial utopia. Fortunately, we have the power to be smarter than them and think on our own terms rather than the false reality sold to us, even though the odds are stacked against us from birth. I always view life as a poker game - you can be dealt a poor hand, but still win in the end. It's all about what we make of it.
