Hi everyone, my name is Ana Guevara
and I was born in Nicaragua. My family consists of my parents, four siblings, and
two nieces and two nephews. Here is the interesting part, half of my siblings currently
reside in Nicaragua. I’m hoping to visit them for the first time since 2004, in
the Summer of 2017, after my graduation. With that being said, I am a junior at
the Warrington School of Business majoring in Finance, and this is my first
year at the University of Florida. I transferred in the Fall of 2015 from Palm
Beach State College, where I received my Associates in Arts Degree.
Through different organizations at
the college, I became an activist for the rights of the oppressed in my
community, and throughout the state. That involvement led me to become a better
individual, and a better student. As I picked my top universities to transfer
to, I got accepted to the University of Florida and was awarded the Jack Kent
Cooke Scholarship for transfer students.
As a business student, my goal is
to leave a positive footprint in my community through Financial Literacy
Workshops for Minorities, and also work for a socially responsible corporation
that not only thinks of profits, but also their impact on society.
As an adventurous person, I would
love to travel in the future. My top locations are Italy, Egypt, China, and
Japan. Since I was young I have been fascinated by the rich history of those
countries that date back to many centuries ago, and my goal is to visit their
historic locations, and eat their authentic cuisine.
As a Gator, I am committed to
making the same experiences and many more as I did in my community college, in
order to become a professional that will be ready to take on the work force.
Now that you know a little bit more
about me, you know that I am an activist, a student, a girlfriend, a friend, family member, a Gator and a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar.
This is who I am, and as
an introvert, taking this course is stepping out of the box, but I am ecstatic
to be in ENT3003, and learn as well from my peers at UF.
