"Week 5 Reading Reflection"

Chapter 9- Assessment of Entrepreneurial Opportunities, was very informative to read. As a finance major, a lot of things correlated with the knowledge I have received in ENT3003, as well as other courses at UF. But, as a business major interested in going into Corporate Law, I was surprised and also pleased to read on the “Ignorance of Legal Issues”. Businesses are also subject to many legal requirements.
1. The biggest surprise from the readings was the amount of millions of collars spent on starting new enterprises, and how many of those vanish. Only small percentage being able to establish themselves in their industries.
a. With reading that particular section, you start to wonder how that affected the entrepreneur on a personal level.
2. What was confusing from the text was the Comprehensive Feasibility Approach.
3. If I were to ask the author two questions, they would be:
a. What would be your advice to the entrepreneurs who failed to established themselves in their preferred industries?
b. What does it mean to be an entrepreneur when you’re starting a new venture?
4. In the reading, I agreed with the author throughout the chapter. And I also learned about the Feasibility Criteria approach and many more information needed to be an entrepreneur.
